Spring Break

This time Genevieve is going to help me write her blog, so it will be done a little differently.

We packed up and left to South Dakota and got to the hotel super late Friday night. Saturday we went to Mount Rushmore, The Presidents Wax Museum, Crazy Horse Memorial and a drive thru Custer State Park. Sunday we drove to Rapid City and went to a restaurant, Dinosaur Park and the Reptile Gardens, then we drove home and again it was super late.

Mount Rushmore the first President was George Washington, and he was on the LEFT side. Abraham Lincoln was on the RIGHT side. We went to the Museum that tells all about the presidents and the people who built it. Also I got a pencil from the gift shop to do this workbook that a park ranger gave me. And I got a badge to become a Junior Park Ranger.

At the Wax Museum I got to stand in front of a podium like I was the President. I also listened about the different people that were made of wax in the museum. I got to watch a video about how the wax museum was made.

Crazy Horse is still not done because they want no state or federal funding. I learned that Crazy Horse died when he was 34. He had a short life. They use no explosives to do the rock formation on Crazy Horse. Also they drew a picture of the horse on the rock and they are gonna carve it out.

The drive thru Custer State Park was fun but long, I started feeling sick on it from all the turns. So that was not fun.

Reptile Gardens had lots of animals and there was two shows; one was a snake show, the other was a bird show. At the snake show I got to see a few different snacks, including a cobra. At the end I got to touch a snake and a baby crocodile. At the bird show I helped to feed a rooster, me and my brother rock, paper, scissors to decide who was going to be the helper. And I won. It felt weird when the rooster tried to eat of my hand, he pecked my hand and I dropped the food. I saw lots of cool birds and reptiles. It was a fun place to go.

Dinosaur Park was cool. It had big stairs and LOTS of dinosaurs. We walked to each of them and took a picture in front of them. And me and my brothers made a ROAR sound, it was like we were dinosaurs.

Monday we watched Pitch Perfect 3 as a family. It was GREAT.

Tuesday we went to Jump Street. I had fun jumping around with my brothers and my mom. I liked doing the obstacle course but it was hard.

Wednesday we went on a LONG walk, we got to play at TWO parks. In the end it was a 3 mile walk from the house and back. It was fun.

Thursday we dyed Easter eggs. I also looked at a list of Camps for Girl Scouts and picked two that I want to go to this Summer.

We still have to see the Easter Bunny and wait for him to come to our house. But Spring Break has been fun.
